Arnall Court
When Sarah's in-laws decided to leave their longtime neighborhood after 30 years to create a multigenerational retreat 45 minutes away, what seemed like a risky move became the foundation for something truly special: a gathering place where grown children have their own suites, grandchildren have dedicated play spaces, and five carefully designed bathrooms each tell their own story.
This sprawling home sits on a golf course and revolves around family connection. Sarah was brought in to renovate five bathrooms throughout the property, each one reflecting different needs while maintaining a sense of warmth and sophistication that feels both polished and lived-in.
The powder room transformation happened without gutting the space. Sarah wrapped the walls in moody William Morris wallpaper and hung a tiered alabaster and brass chandelier that casts soft, dramatic light. Brass fixtures with jewel-like handles and an original Chihuly piece create contrast and personality in the small space. The result is a powder room that feels bold, British, and full of character.
The guest bathroom became Sarah's playground for unexpected details. She started with a custom floor tile layout that immediately sets the room apart. Sculptural lighting from Hudson Valley adds both function and artistry. The warm walnut tambour-front vanity replaced a more traditional piece and quickly became a favorite for both Sarah and her mother-in-law. A vintage curio cabinet and plate wall make the space feel curated rather than decorated, while a colorful rug brings energy and warmth. A Japanese block print, likely from Liberty of London, nods to the family's British design sensibilities.
Both bathrooms show how guest spaces can have real personality while still being practical. Sarah mixed old and new, formal and playful, creating rooms that support the multigenerational life happening in this special home.
